Accessibility Statement for goldenpages.ie

At FCR Media, we are committed to ensuring that our digital services are accessible to all users, regardless of ability. We recognise the importance of inclusive design and usability, and we are actively working to ensure that our platform, goldenpages.ie, aligns with the principles of the European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882).

goldenpages.ie is Ireland’s largest online business directory. It connects users with local services and businesses across the country and supports small and medium-sized enterprises by providing a digital presence, contact details, location mapping, customer reviews, and more. We are continuously working to ensure that goldenpages.ie is accessible, user-friendly, and usable by people of all abilities.

Our commitment to accessibility

We aim to meet the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which serve as the benchmark for digital accessibility across the EU and underpin the principles of the European Accessibility Act.

We are actively reviewing the site’s design, content, and functionality to ensure it is:

  • Perceivable – Information and interface elements are presented in ways users can perceive

  • Operable – Interface elements are operable by all users, including keyboard-only navigation

  • Understandable – Content is readable and predictable

  • Robust – Compatible with a wide range of assistive technologies

Current accessibility status

The goldenpages.ie website is currently partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA. This means that most of the site meets accessibility standards, but some parts may not fully conform.

Known accessibility limitations

  • Alternative text: Some images may lack descriptive or appropriate alt text.

  • Colour contrast: Certain text or interface elements may not meet recommended contrast ratios.

  • Keyboard navigation: Full operability using keyboard-only controls may not be available across all interactive elements.

  • Focus visibility: Some interactive elements may lack a clearly visible keyboard focus indicator

  • Review and contact forms: Inputs may not consistently include associated labels or accessible error messaging

  • ARIA and semantic structure: Certain dynamic elements may not use semantic HTML or ARIA roles that support screen reader use

  • Heading structure: Heading levels may be misused or skipped, affecting navigation for assistive technologies

We are addressing these issues as part of our broader commitment to accessibility and inclusive digital experiences.

How we’re improving accessibility

We are currently:

  • Auditing our website to identify and resolve accessibility gaps

  • Working with our design and development teams to apply WCAG 2.1 AA best practices

  • Prioritising accessibility in ongoing updates and content changes
